| Our computer lab boasts 21 IBM
workstations running Windows XP Pro connected to a new Windows 2003 server.
Students use Microsoft 2007 Office tools. We have high speed cable Internet access and a digital projection unit allowing us the mobility to
bring technology based lessons into the classroom. Students use webcams,
digital cameras, scanners, and video cameras. SMART Boards are permanently
mounted in the computer lab and in the classrooms for Grades 4, 6, 7 and 8.
A portable SMART Board is available for all other classes.
Students in Grades K-8 receive weekly formal computer lessons and are assigned projects focused on keyboarding,
word-processing, multimedia, using spreadsheets, Internet safety and searching skills, accessing, evaluating and organizing data and, creating electronic presentations.
We explore digital storytelling, photo and video editing, and Web 2.0 tools.
Open computer lab time is available daily.
The teachers and Technology Coordinator work as a team to integrate technology into lessons
to support and enhance the students' learning.
