St. Joe's Religion Curriculum

Visit our Parish website for information on Lenten observance requirements, service times, and scheduled Lenten events.

Did you see our How to Pray the Rosary page?

Where are we in the Liturgical Year?

Who is the Saint of the Day?

Watch the fourth grade Stations of the Cross movie!

Third graders researched a saint, dressed up like our saint and then shared facts about their life with our classmates. Next, we made a movie about our saints! Be sure to watch our movie so we can share with you all that we learned!

The Second Graders created artwork depicting themselves entering the church on their First Communion Day which will be coming soon!

The second graders made cell phones the call God when saying their prayers.

Second Graders made "Good Deed Beads" for the start of Lent. Each time they do a good deed, they can slide a bead down on their keychain.

Third graders work together to show Apostolic works.

After learning about the Law of Love, fourth grade students created advertisements to encourage others to love one another.

To help us learn and remember the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, fourth graders created spinning wheels. On each part of the wheel we drew and explained what each gift meant to us.

Seventh grade religion students worked on the power of trusting others. Each student was led around an obstacle course, blindfolded, trusting only their partner and his/her God-given gifts of explanation.

Eighth graders work together to create rosaries and to study each decade.

Fr. Brad visited the Second Grade classroom to explain to us how different vestments are used throughout the Liturgical Church Year. He brought in vestments to describe the significance of color and answered our many questions!

Sixth graders draw the face of Jesus as they picture He might look.

Sixth graders review the different parts of Mass by placing them in order around the room.

Eighth graders made Stations of the Cross collage books to show a modern viewpoint of Jesus' path to Calvary.

Seventh graders spent time during religion class developing a pledge of respect for all persons. Following the pledge, a banner was made to show commitment to our goal.

Students and faculty come together weekly to celebrate the Liturgy. This celebration takes place at 8:30 a.m. on Fridays except when Holy Days occur. Parents, parishioners and friends are always welcome to share in our liturgical celebrations.

Aside from formal religious instruction, throughout the year our students are involved in many outreach programs to help them develop into contributing members of our Faith Community.

We invite our St. Joseph Parish School families to share in the monthly devotion of the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament as a new tradition for you and your family. During the first Tuesday of each month, every grade will have the opportunity to go into the church during the exposition to spend time honoring the Holy Eucharist. Parents, grandparents, and siblings are welcome to join us!
